We all have our little common driving habits. The ones we probably wouldn’t admit to unless someone else called us out first. From talking to your car like it’s a person to celebrating when you hit every green light, there are some things that almost every driver has done.
So, be honest… how many of these are you guilty of?
- Turning the music down to concentrate
You know when you’re trying to follow a new route or attempting to park somewhere you’ve never been before? Suddenly, the music has to go down. Because apparently, we can’t possibly concentrate on driving while listening to our favourite song at full volume.
- Checking your fuel range… again
You filled up yesterday. You’ve got plenty of fuel – you know you have plenty of fuel.
And yet… you still check the remaining miles every time you get in. Just to be sure.
- Talking to your car
“Come on…”, “Why are you doing that?”, “Don’t you dare break down now.”
Whether you’re encouraging it up a hill, questioning a strange noise or thanking it for starting on a cold morning, there’s a good chance you’ve had a conversation with your car at some point. No judgement here.
- Getting way too excited about green lights
Three green lights in a row? It’s your lucky day.
You didn’t do anything to deserve it, but somehow it feels like you’ve just won the lottery.
- Staying in the car because the song isn’t finished
You’ve arrived home. The engine is off. But you’re not getting out yet.
Because your favourite song has 30 seconds left, and obviously you can’t interrupt it.
- Driving past a parking space because you don’t like it
Too tight? Too close to another car? Slightly awkward angle? Nope, you just didn’t like it.
And you’ll happily drive around the car park for another five minutes until you find the perfect space.
